Father's Day 2026- Supporting His Son's Wishes Then Becoming A Hero

In honor of Father’s Day, we are beyond grateful to recognize the fathers who say ‘YES’ to donation, who support their child’s decision, who have received the ultimate gift and who have given it. The power of love when it comes to donation is unfathomable.

Today is for you.

For all you have done and all you continue to do...

Happy Father's Day!

Meet Daryl, a heroic donor’s father and donor hero.

His wife shared, “Daryl was a thoughtful husband and father. He proudly served in the United States’ Army as a helicopter pilot and Chief Warrant Officer during the Vietnam War. Daryl was an amazing storyteller, a talented man with many skills and a dedicated volunteer in the community. He loved flying and shared his passion with visitors at the Palm Springs Air Museum. Daryl also volunteered with Desert Hot Springs Veterans of Foreign Wars, Air & Space Forces Association (AFA) and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Following his son Michael’s passing in 2020, Daryl was inspired to become actively involved in volunteering to bring awareness to the importance of registering to be an organ, eye and tissue donor in honor of his son’s legacy left behind through donation. He was the kind of person who opened his door to those in need and was often being a father figure to his son’s friends that had nowhere else to turn. Daryl was an insightful person who was as willing to listen as he was to share. Daryl participated regularly in Nevada Donor Network’s Men’s Grief Support Group. He was considered the ‘father’ of the group. One pragmatic message that Daryl shared which resonated powerfully amongst the group was, “Although you are an insignificant being in this big world, it does not mean you cannot be the world to someone else.” Daryl is missed by many, and his memory lives in our hearts. Daryl leaves behind a loving wife who absolutely meant the world to him. We will remember Daryl’s courage, hard work, integrity, laugh that was bigger than life and the love he had for his family!”
